Steven Favreau’s salon and library in a Boston show house

Steven Favreau’s salon and library in a Boston show house

For a salon and library in this spring’s Junior League of Boston Showhouse 2016, designer Steven Favreau who is half-way into My Year with Robert Allen (#MYWRA), orchestrated a bold tableau of modern art, fine antiques and brave pattern combinations using Robert Allen and Beacon Hill fabrics.

The lavishly layered spaces paired preppy looks, like Helios Plaid in Mussel Shell for draperies, with impressionistic prints, such as Annina in Indigo for wall coverings. A rich assortment of neutrals — Dream Chenille in Brindle for the club chairs, Luxe Alpaca in Silver and Balistano in Sand for the Juan side chairs, and Enchantment in Pearl for salon draperies — all serve as restful counterpoints. Steven chose Robert Allen Furniture to complete this room showing the Bridget Chair, upholstered in Turn Out in Mussel Shell and Grid Velvet in Sand on the Zoey Benches.
